I kept reading betting app reviews written by people who had clearly never opened the app. That, and at the time I created the website, there were many more issues with accessing apps on Android devices, and no help was available.

I have been betting for years and building websites for just as long. BettingApps.org is the site I wanted to exist: one where somebody actually downloads the app, deposits real money, places bets, and tells you what it is genuinely like to use.

Long before this site, I built and ran a football accumulator website. I’ve never been much of a developer, but I’ve written basic team form trackers, head-to-head stats spreadsheets, etc., to try to find good value bets and accas.

That experience helped shape how I review apps now, as it gave me a lot of time to use different bookies’ apps.

The goal is for every app we list to be installed on a real device and used with a funded account. I check deposits and withdrawals, place bets in live markets, and look at what happens when something goes wrong.

It’s a good way to check how the apps actually work, not just what they claim to do. When bookies/casinos get things right, we point it out, but when withdrawal times are slow or the odds aren’t great, we say that too.

I have spent over 15 years in web development and digital marketing. During that time, I’ve worked as an SEO Manager at Spectrum Brands, an SEO Specialist for Expedia across Australia and New Zealand, and a Business Analyst at Google/Xpand.

On the betting side, I’ve been to racing events, including the Cheltenham Festival. I’ve lost and won money at casinos around the world, including in Las Vegas, and I’m a lifelong football supporter/season ticket holder for a Premier League team.

I have also been to loads of gambling and search industry events, including iGB London, iGB Berlin, Pubcon Las Vegas, and the SiGMA Asia Summit. And I am a longstanding member of the Gambling Portal Webmasters Association (GPWA).
