Betfair casino mobile app: what the lobby holds

If you already bet with Betfair there’s nothing new to sign up for, because its registration help says your existing account works in the casino. And if you came looking for a Betfair online casino review rather than an app guide, most of this page still applies. The account, the cashier and the rules are the same wherever you play.

The App Store listing names slots, Slingo, live casino and card and table games, and the Google Play description also mentions a “free play mode”. Betfair’s casino homepage puts the library at “1,000+” games. Its casino site also lists baccarat, video poker, scratchcards and Macau card games alongside the roulette and blackjack tables.

The studios Betfair names include Pragmatic Play, Big Time Gaming, ELK Studios and Relax Gaming. Megaways titles get a tab of their own on its casino site, and Slingo Rainbow Riches is the Slingo game it singles out.

Jackpot King is the system I’d look at first. Each Jackpot King slot carries three progressive pots, Royal, Regal and the Jackpot King itself, and Betfair says all three are “triggered entirely at random during base game spins”. I like that the two smaller pots have published ceilings, because it tells you they have to pay out. The Royal Pot must be won before it reaches £3,500 and the Regal Pot before £35,000, while the top pot resets to its minimum once it drops. Fishin’ Frenzy, Deal or No Deal and King Kong Cash are among the Jackpot King titles on Betfair’s casino site.

The Betfair Daily Jackpot titles work on the clock instead. Betfair describes them as “time-based jackpots that are guaranteed to drop, including hourly and daily prizes on selected slots”, and says titles like these are available exclusively at Betfair.

Drops & Wins is Pragmatic Play’s network rather than Betfair’s own. Cash prizes can drop on any spin of an eligible game, and three wheel pieces earn a spin on a prize wheel paying up to 100,000x. Leaderboard tournaments reset daily, and points on eligible games decide prizes of up to €20,000. It’s a euro network, so the prizes are quoted that way: €2,000,000 a month in total, Betfair says, all paid without wagering.

Prize Pinball is the one thing here you don’t stake on, and it’s the daily extra I’d open without a second thought. Betfair runs it as a free daily game, playable once a day between midnight and 23:59 UK time, with a jackpot that starts at £1,000 and rolls over when nobody wins it. Reach its bonus round and Betfair says you’re guaranteed either a cash prize or the jackpot. Once the jackpot has gone on a given day, the game switches to a version without it until midnight. The smaller prizes carry their own terms, shown when you win, and none of them can be swapped for cash.

To check how a game works, open it, tap the menu button inside the game and choose the “?” option, which is where each game’s rules are kept. On return to player, Betfair’s Jackpot King page is straight with you: the percentage is “set over an average of millions of spins”, so a short session can land anywhere.

Betfair live casino review, and why your Priority level matters

Betfair’s live casino page lists roulette (including Live Pinball Roulette), blackjack with side-bet versions such as All Bets Blackjack, baccarat, and game shows like Adventures Beyond Wonderland and Deal or No Deal: The Big Draw. There’s also Betfair’s own studio with Betfair-branded roulette and sic bo tables, and you can type messages for the dealer to see.

Check your limits before you sit down, because Betfair’s casino FAQ says “The bet limits on Live Casino depend on your Priority level at the time”. Each level offers two or three minimum and maximum ranges, and if you don’t pick one you join at the highest level open to you. On a phone, changing it means leaving the table, choosing the new limit and joining again.

Betfair also explains what happens if the stream drops mid-round. A live game can’t be resumed, so “you’ll be redirected to a virtual equivalent that uses RNG to determine the result”. I’d rather know that before a big hand than find out during one.

Betfair’s closed loop policy decides where most of your money can go. It says “You must withdraw to each payment method at least the total amount deposited before you can withdraw any additional funds via another chosen payment method.” Apple Pay withdrawals, separately, only go to a card you’ve already deposited from through Apple Pay. If a method can’t take withdrawals at all, you withdraw by bank transfer instead. For that reason I’d settle on how you want to be paid before the first deposit.

The help pages cover the awkward cases too. Several withdrawals can land in your bank out of order, so Betfair asks you to allow five working days for all of them. A withdrawal to a lost or expired card still goes through if the bank account behind it is open (it just takes a little longer), and otherwise it declines and returns to your Betfair balance.

It’s live chat or a message, and the Google Play listing says chat runs 24/7. Help articles open chat from their Message Us buttons, with separate chats for login problems and suspended accounts, and the withdrawals article has a Withdrawal Chat of its own. For a payment question I’d start there, since it’s the chat Betfair offers for withdrawal queries. A forgotten username or password can’t be sorted by email or text, for security. There’s also a Feedback option inside the app, which Betfair points people towards in its store replies.

If chat doesn’t settle something, Betfair’s complaints procedure sends an automated receipt within 24 hours and aims for a first response within five working days. A UK customer can get a final response within eight weeks, you can ask for reasonable adjustments along the way, and the independent body for escalation is IBAS.

Safer gambling tools at Betfair

You’ll find the tools under My Account, then Safer Gambling Tools. You can set a deposit limit or a net deposit limit by day, week or month. A lower limit applies at once, a higher one waits 24 hours, and the periods reset at midnight UTC.

Take Betfair’s example of a £100 weekly net limit. Depositing £50 and then withdrawing £100 leaves £150 you can still deposit that week, because withdrawals count back in your favour. A plain deposit limit only counts what goes in.

There’s also a loss limit by day, week, month or year, which I like because it can be set for Casino & Bingo on its own. It works on net losses, so in Betfair’s example a £50 buy-in that wins £10 back counts as a £40 loss.

The time tools are simpler. A Gaming Time Check reminds you how long you’ve been playing and shows your net position for the session, across every game you play in it. A Time Out pauses the account for up to 30 days. A Betfair casino self-exclusion runs for six months or more, for one product or all of them, and Betfair is blunt about it: “This action cannot be reversed under any circumstances.” It says it will take reasonable steps to return any balance you hold when it starts.

If you have other Flutter accounts, most of that stays at Betfair. Is Betfair casino legit?

Yes. Two companies run the casino for UK players, Betfair Casino Limited and PPB Entertainment Limited, both registered in Malta and licensed by the Gambling Commission (accounts 39435 and 39426). For me the stronger reassurance is how your balance is held. Customer money is held in a trust run by The Sporting Exchange (Clients) Limited, a company set up only for that job. The terms say “This arrangement meets the Gambling Commission’s requirements for the protection of customer funds at the level: ‘high protection’.” If Betfair became insolvent, your money wouldn’t be available to administrators and you could withdraw it as normal. The exception is money paid in through a third-party payment provider, which can take a few days to reach the trust and isn’t protected until it does. For card details, Betfair says it goes through an annual PCI DSS assessment by an independent assessor.
