Meet the founder
Daniel Simpson
Founder and editor
I started BettingApps.org in 2015 because too many betting app reviews read as if they had been written from the App Store listing. I wanted reviews from people who actually use the apps.
I have spent more than 15 years in SEO and digital marketing: as an SEO specialist for Expedia across Australia and New Zealand, a business analyst with Google, an in-house SEO manager for a global consumer brand and, since 2018, running my own digital marketing agency. That background is why we care about how pages are researched and checked, not just how they read.
On the betting side, I built and ran a football accumulator website with my own team form trackers, head-to-head tools and a value-betting model. I have been to the Cheltenham Festival and Las Vegas, and to industry events including iGB London, iGB Berlin, Pubcon Las Vegas and the SiGMA Asia Summit. I am a member of the Gambling Portal Webmasters Association.

The people behind the reviews
Our editorial team covers different parts of the market, with every review checked against the same method.
How we review betting apps
The short version. The full method, with our scoring criteria, is on how we review.
Research
We check the operator, its UK Gambling Commission licence and what the app offers before we start.
Use the app
We download it, open an account, deposit, bet and withdraw, and note what works and what gets in the way.
Score it
Every app is rated on the same five criteria, so scores can be compared across brands.
Keep it current
We re-check reviews when apps, offers or payment options change, and correct anything that is out of date.
How we make money
BettingApps.org is free to read. Some operators pay us a commission when readers sign up through our links. We aim to keep that separate from our reviews: scores come from our criteria, and we try to cover each app's drawbacks as well as its strengths.
Supporting safer gambling
We focus on apps licensed by the UK Gambling Commission, and our content is for over-18s. We try to avoid pressure or "sure thing" language, and we publish guides to deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion.
Who reads BettingApps.org
