Canelo Alvarez is back in the ring on Saturday 31 October in Riyadh, and for the first time since 2022, he’s going in as the challenger. We’re expecting Christian Mbilli, the WBC Super Middleweight champion, to make it an explosive fight.
bet365 makes Canelo the clear favourite at 10/33 to win the fight, with Mbilli at 12/5. Full prices are below, along with fight details and how to watch in the UK.

When and where is the fight
Canelo Alvarez fights Christian Mbilli for the WBC super middleweight title on Saturday 31 October at The Venue (ANB Arena) in Riyadh’s Boulevard City. As well as the title fight, we’re getting a 10-bout Riyadh Season card billed as “Mexico vs the World”, over 12 rounds.
The date has already moved once: it was initially set for 12 September, but in July Canelo said a family matter delayed his training camp, so it moved to the end of October. Both men have been out for more than a year. Canelo last fought in September 2025, and Mbilli did too, on the same night and card in Las Vegas.
How to watch in the UK
The fight is on DAZN pay-per-view in the UK for £24.99. DAZN’s coverage starts at 5pm GMT, and it expects the main event ring walks at about 8.30pm GMT. Fight-night timings often slip, so check DAZN on the day.
The undercard includes Jaime Munguia against Nikita Zon for Munguia’s WBA super middleweight title (Canelo beat Munguia on points in May 2024), and Rafael Espinoza against Ricardo Blandon for Espinoza’s WBO featherweight title.

Canelo Alvarez
Saul “Canelo” Alvarez is 36, from Guadalajara in Mexico, and turned professional at 15. He has won world titles in four weight classes, from light middleweight to light heavyweight, and in 2021 became the first boxer to hold all four major super middleweight belts at once.
His record is 63 wins, 3 losses and 2 draws, with 39 wins inside the distance. The last of those stoppages came in 2021. Since then he has gone 6-2, and all eight of those fights went to the scorecards. That fits bet365’s 2/7 for the fight to go the distance.
The last fight was the hardest of his recent run. Terence Crawford beat him on a unanimous decision in Las Vegas in September 2025 and took his undisputed titles. Canelo had surgery on his left elbow soon after, and this is his first fight since. It is also the first time he has gone in as the challenger since he lost to Dmitry Bivol at light heavyweight in May 2022.
Christian Mbilli
Christian Mbilli is 31. He was born in Yaoundé, Cameroon, boxed for France at the 2016 Olympics in Rio, and now fights out of Quebec, where he has spent most of his professional career. He became a Canadian citizen in 2023. His nickname is “Solide”.
He is unbeaten in 30 fights: 29 wins, 24 of them inside the distance, and one draw. He won the interim WBC title in June 2025 by stopping Maciej Sulecki in the first round. In September 2025 he drew with Lester Martinez on a split decision on the Canelo v Crawford undercard. The WBC made him its full champion in January 2026, after Crawford gave up the title.
This is by a distance the biggest name he has faced.
