How to download the Sky Poker app on Android and iPhone

You can download Sky Poker free on the App Store and Google Play, as an app of its own, separate from Sky Bet. On iPhone and iPad it's a single app, Sky Poker Texas Holdem & Omaha, which needs iOS or iPadOS 12 or later. For the Sky Poker app for Android, look for Sky Poker – Texas Holdem Games from Sky Betting and Gaming Apps; the listing's own data puts the minimum at Android 9. The Sky Poker desktop download is for Windows only, and Sky recommends it for playing on a computer; you get it from skypoker.com. There's no Mac version, so on a Mac you play Sky Poker online in a browser at the same address. If the old Sky Poker app is still on your phone, Sky says opening it should download the latest version automatically, though a small number of people have to update it manually. The previous desktop client no longer works, and Sky says you can delete it.

Download the Sky Poker app for Android

  1. Open Google Play: licensed UK poker apps are listed directly on the Play Store.
  2. Search for "Sky Poker" and check the developer name matches the official operator.
  3. Tap "Install". The app is free.
  4. Open the app and log in, or register a new account. You must be 18 or over, and identity verification is required before you can play.
  5. Set your deposit limits in the app before you sit down at a first table.

Sky Poker app not showing on Google Play?

Sky Poker is on Google Play, so there's no reason to install an APK file from another site. Get it from the Play listing published by Sky Betting and Gaming Apps, which is rated PEGI 18.

Download the Sky Poker app for iPhone and iPad

  1. Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad (you need a UK Apple ID).
  2. Search for "Sky Poker" and check the developer name matches the official operator before you install anything.
  3. Tap "Get" to download. The app is free.
  4. Open the app and log in, or register a new account. You must be 18 or over, and identity verification is required before you can play.
  5. Set your deposit limits in the app before you sit down at a first table.

How it scores

Sky Poker suits you if you already have a Sky account and play small stakes. Sky runs games of its own that only Sky players get, from 25p Double Your Money Sit & Gos up to the Sunday Major. Sky Poker Rewards pays cash rakeback from your first Status Point (the points you earn from the rake you pay). For me, the part to get straight before you deposit is the money. Poker has a wallet of its own, so you move funds in to play and move anything you win back to your main Sky wallet before you can withdraw it. Sky Poker has had a new app since May 2025, built by Playtech, and it now runs on the iPoker network. That makes it two poker rooms in one app: Sky's games in pounds, and the network's in euros, Twisters and Mystery Bounty tournaments included.

App usability & design (25%) 6/10

One App Store app covers iPhone and iPad, and there's a Windows download for a computer. Against that, Google Play users rate the Android app 2.0 from 540 reviews, well below its 4.1 from 651 ratings on the App Store (7 October 2026). There's no Mac download, and the browser lobby lacks heads-up and higher-stakes Double Your Money Sit & Gos.

Games & formats (20%) 7/10

Sky's own pound games, regular and Spin Up cash tables and Double Your Money Sit & Gos from 25p, run alongside the iPoker network's cash tables, Twisters and, by Sky's how-to guide, Speed Poker. Sit & Gos come heads-up, six-handed and nine-handed, and Hold'em, Omaha and Omaha Hi-Lo are the variants Sky's site picks out.

Payments & account (20%) 7/10

Debit cards, Apple Pay, Pay by Bank and Revolut Pay, with a withdrawal time Sky states for most of them and Pay by Bank named as the quickest. The poker wallet adds a transfer at each end, and PayPal and Google Pay are no longer accepted.

Tournaments & player traffic (20%) 7/10

A pound schedule with the Sunday Major and the £3,000 Predator Direct, the network's Mystery and bounty events, two freerolls for regulars who earn Status Points, and APAT and IPT satellites. Player numbers aren't part of this score.

Customer service & safer gambling (15%) 7/10

Live chat from 7am to 2am with topic chats, @SkyBetHelp messages on X and Facebook, and IBAS for UK complaints. The safer gambling tools include a Transfer Limit for the poker wallet, a Sky Poker only self-exclusion, Cool-Off and a Profit and Loss figure for poker. There's no general phone number.

We are still working through hands-on testing of every app we review. Until we have tested one, its score comes from published app data and our own research, and we update it as soon as the testing is done. How we review →

Pros

  • Sky Exclusive games for Sky players only, from Spin Up cash tables to Double Your Money Sit & Gos from 25p, next to the iPoker network's Twisters and Mystery Bounty events
  • Cash rakeback of 20% to 40%, paid as Cash Points you can swap for money
  • Two freerolls for regulars, including a daily route into the Sunday Major
  • One login for Sky Bet, Sky Vegas, Sky Casino, Sky Bingo and Sky Poker
  • A Transfer Limit for the poker wallet and a Sky Poker only self-exclusion

Cons

  • A separate poker wallet: you transfer money in to play and back out before you can withdraw
  • No Mac download, and the browser lobby lacks heads-up and Double Your Money Sit & Gos above £10
  • Google Play users rate the Android app 2.0 from 540 reviews, against 4.1 from 651 ratings on the App Store (7 October 2026)
  • No general customer service phone number
  • PayPal and Google Pay are no longer accepted

Sky Poker welcome offer explained

Earn 50 SPs and get €40 in bonuses

New Sky customers aged 18 or over in the UK and Ireland can get €40 in tickets and free blinds by earning 50 Status Points at real-money poker. Sky puts 50 points at €5 or £4.17 in rake, and the whole €40 is released at once when you reach them. Sky's terms don't mention a promo code: you create your poker nickname, then opt in on the Missions tab, in the app, the Windows download or the browser. General tournament tickets: 1 × €5, 3 × €3, 3 × €2 (€20); Twister tickets: 1 × €5, 3 × €2, 4 × €1 (€15); Free blinds: 50 × €0.10 (€5). Unused bonuses expire after 30 days, the tickets can't be transferred, and the offer can be claimed once per player. On top of that, seven daily missions (one a day, in any order) pay extra tickets or free blinds for playing set games. One pays a €1 Twister ticket for playing a €2 Twister, another a £2 ticket for a Sky Exclusive £5 Double Your Money Sit & Go. The values are in euros, and Sky converts them automatically if you play in pounds. Sky can exclude players for multiple accounts, collusion, chip dumping or using solvers. The terms don't set a deadline for the 50 points or say whether ticket winnings are paid as cash. They don't give a minimum deposit either, so check the promotion page before you start.

Significant terms

Minimum deposit Not stated in Sky's terms; there is no deposit match, and the €40 is released by Status Points earned from rake
Wagering requirement Released as you earn points: 50 Status Points (€5 or £4.17 in rake) at real-money poker releases the full €40 at once
Eligible games Real-money poker games earn the points; the €40 comes as general tournament tickets (€20), Twister tickets (€15) and free blinds (€5)
Maximum stake while wagering Not stated in the terms
Time limits Unused bonuses expire after 30 days. The terms set no deadline for earning the 50 Status Points
Winnings cap Not stated; the terms don't say whether ticket winnings are paid as cash
Excluded payment methods None stated in the offer terms

What’s in the Sky Poker mobile app

I’d start with the search box in the Sky Poker lobby, because that’s how Sky’s help tells you to find its own games among the network’s. Tap Tournaments, then the search icon, and type £. That lists the next 15 tournaments in pounds, and the same search works under Sit&Go’s.

The app also has games the browser lobby doesn’t. While Sky works on its browser lobby, heads-up Sit & Gos and Double Your Money games above £10 are only in the app and the Windows download. So a Mac player who wants those needs the phone or tablet app. (The browser lobby does have shortcuts to the 25p to £10 ones.)

Your poker tickets, welcome ones included, are under Tickets at the top left of the lobby.

Sky Poker tournaments and freerolls

For a low-stakes tournament player, the schedule is the strongest part of Sky Poker on paper. Sky’s biggest exclusive tournament of the week is the Sunday Major (Sundays at 8pm).

I like the freeroll route into it. Every day at 6pm there’s a Sunday Major Freeroll for anyone who’s earned 20 Status Points in the 24 hours before it starts, and the top three each win a £100 seat. Weekday regulars get a second one, a Rewards Freeroll at 6.30pm Monday to Friday, if they earned 50 Status Points the previous week (tickets won in either freeroll expire after 30 days).

In one hour on 7 October 2026, Sky’s own events included the £3,000 Predator Direct (£8 + £0.80) and a £50 Omaha Hi-Lo Bounty Hunter (£0.90 + £0.20). In the same hour the network ran the €15,000 Midweek Mystery (€91 + €18) and the first step of an IPT Killarney satellite (€0.23 + €0.02). That hour had 25 tournaments, and all but three were Hold’em (two Omaha, one Omaha Hi-Lo).

For live poker, Sky says it’s the only place to qualify online for APAT live events. It runs a satellite for a £140 Players Choice seat every Friday and Sunday, with one seat guaranteed in each, and winners can use the seat at any APAT live event in 2026.

Sky Poker cash games and Sit & Gos

The Sky Exclusive games include regular cash tables, short-stacked Spin Up tables and Double Your Money Sit & Gos from 25p, which end when three players are left. Sky’s site picks out Hold’em, Omaha and Omaha Hi-Lo as three of the most popular variants you’ll find at Sky Poker (in Hi-Lo the best high and low hands split the pot).

The iPoker network adds its own cash tables, Twisters and, going by Sky’s how-to guide, Speed Poker. If Twisters are why you’re here, €15 of the welcome package comes as Twister tickets.

Sky Poker rake and rakeback

Sky Poker Rewards is the part I’d point a regular player to, because it’s straight cash rakeback. You get 20% to 40% depending on your tier, paid as Cash Points that you swap for money in the VIP section of the lobby whenever you like. You earn 10 Status Points for every €1 of rake you pay, or 12 for every £1, and 50 Cash Points are worth €1.

Tier Rakeback Status Points needed
Bronze 20% none, everyone starts here
Silver 25% 200 in a month
Gold 30% 1,000 in a month
Platinum 35% 10,000 over 3 months
Sky Elite 40% 50,000 over 3 months

A tier you reach in one month is kept for the next (Platinum and Sky Elite for three months). Cash Points expire 12 months after you earn them if you don’t cash them in.

On the rake itself, Sky’s exclusive cash games take 5% of the pot, capped at £1 heads-up and £1.80 with three or more players, and Sky charges no rake when no flop is seen. If you play bigger games, compare that £1.80 with the network’s tables, which can take up to €4 a pot from €0.50/€1 to €5/€10 with three or more players.

Sky Poker deposits, the poker wallet and withdrawals

The poker wallet adds a step at each end. Sky Poker has a wallet of its own inside your Sky account, and Sky’s help is plain about it: “Poker wallet can only be spent on Poker”. You deposit into your main wallet, move money across to play (from My Account and Transfer Funds, or the Cashier in the poker lobby), and move it back before you withdraw. Any poker bonuses land in the poker wallet too.

Games on the iPoker network are played in euros, so Sky converts your pounds automatically when you play them, with no conversion fee, while Sky’s exclusive games stay in pounds.

For deposits, Sky takes debit cards (up to three on an account), Apple Pay, Pay by Bank and Revolut Pay, and says deposits appear straight away. PayPal and Google Pay are no longer accepted on any Sky brand, and credit cards can’t be used by law.

Once the money is back in your main wallet, the withdrawal times Sky states are in the table, and Sky says Pay by Bank is the quickest. You have to withdraw at least what you deposited with each method back to that method before you can withdraw to another one, which Sky calls the Net Deposit Rule.

Your Sky account, nickname and verification

There’s no separate Sky Bet poker account to open. Sky gives each customer one account across Sky Bet, Sky Vegas, Sky Casino, Sky Bingo and Sky Poker, so the username and PIN you already use will log you in to the poker app. If your Sky Poker login isn’t working, our Sky Bet app review covers login problems.

The first time you log in you’ll be asked for a poker nickname, which you can change every six months after that. Anyone who played before the iPoker move has to choose again, because Sky couldn’t keep the old nicknames (you can have yours back if nobody else has taken it).

Before you can deposit, Sky has you confirm your email address and mobile number with a six-digit code. If its automatic checks can’t confirm your age and identity, you upload photo ID as a JPEG or PNG; Sky won’t accept PDFs or screenshots for ID. It aims to review the documents within 4 hours, though it can take up to 24. Accounts work in the UK, Ireland and Gibraltar, and logging in from outside the places Sky allows can get yours suspended.

Sky Poker customer support

Live chat is the way in. Sky Poker live chat runs from 7am to 2am every day, and several Sky Poker help articles have their own chat buttons, such as Login Chat and Withdrawal Query Chat. You can also send @SkyBetHelp a private message on X or Facebook, where Sky aims to reply within 15 minutes, though not between midnight and 7am and not with ID documents. There’s no general Sky Poker contact number, and I’d like one for account problems.

For UK customers, Sky’s final response to a complaint comes within 8 weeks, and if that doesn’t settle it you can take it to IBAS, the independent adjudicator, at no cost.

Safer gambling tools on Sky Poker

The tool built for poker is the Transfer Limit, which caps how much you can move into your Sky Poker wallet per day, week, month or year. It takes effect the moment you set it; you can lower it at once, but an increase takes 7 days. You’ll find it under My Account, then Safer Gambling Tools, then Set your Transfer Limit.

You can also self-exclude from Sky Poker only, for between six months and five years, and a self-exclusion can’t be removed once it’s in place. Only an all-product self-exclusion can be permanent, and only that kind also blocks matching UK accounts at the rest of the group (Paddy Power, Betfair, PokerStars and tombola).

For a shorter break, a Cool-Off of 1 to 30 days blocks all five Sky brands and can’t be ended early. Deposit Controls let you set a daily, weekly or monthly deposit limit or net deposit limit. Sky’s My Profit and Loss page (under Gaming Activity) works out your Sky Poker figure from transfers in and out of the poker wallet. Sky also points you to GAMSTOP, which lets you self-exclude from participating online gambling companies licensed in Great Britain.

Sky Poker’s network, licence and owner

Sky Poker is on iPoker now, and the app changed with the move. The App Store release note of 27 May 2025 reads: “A brand new Poker experience with our new Sky Poker App built by third party provider Playtech.”

Behind the Sky name (used under licence from Sky Limited) is Bonne Terre Gaming Limited, which holds Gambling Commission account 65519 and a Gibraltar licence, and is wholly owned by Flutter Entertainment. Sky Poker is one of its active trading names on the register.

Sky’s terms ban collusion and say it uses software to analyse hands to detect it. Money to cover customer balances is kept in a separate bank account, at the Gambling Commission’s Medium level of protection.

Sky Poker and Sky’s other apps

For anything that isn’t poker, Sky has separate apps. Our Sky Bet app review covers the sportsbook and login help, and our Sky Casino app review covers slots, live casino and video poker. To compare Sky Poker with other poker rooms, see our poker apps guide.

Sky Poker app not working? Common faults and fixes

Before you decide Sky Poker is down, run through the problems Sky's own help pages cover.

The Sky Poker update won't run on your phone

Fix: Not every device can run the app Sky Poker moved to, and for those Sky's advice is to play online at skypoker.com instead.

An Account closed message, though you haven't closed it

Fix: Sky says this usually happens on a device shared with someone else who has a Sky account. Try logging in from a different browser or a different device.

The website misbehaves in your browser

Fix: Sky supports Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Safari, and asks you to try one of those if something isn't working.

You keep getting logged out

Fix: Sky logs you out automatically after 90 minutes without activity.

Fingerprint or face login stops working

Fix: Log in with your PIN, turn biometrics off in the app's settings, then turn them back on.

Our Sky Poker verdict

Sky’s own games are the reason to play here. Type £ into the tournament search and you’ve got Sky’s events, with the Sunday Major the biggest of the week. The daily freeroll into it lets a regular win a seat without paying a buy-in. I’d choose it for the rakeback too, which keeps paying in cash for as long as you play, while the welcome deal is a one-off in tickets and free blinds. If you’re on a Mac and want a download, or you play on Android, where Google Play reviewers rate the app well below the iPhone version, I’d look at other poker rooms first.

Sky Poker app FAQ

Is Sky Poker on the iPoker network?

Yes. Sky's What's New page says "Sky Poker has joined the iPoker network to enhance your gaming experience". Sky still runs a ringfenced set of Sky Exclusive games and promotions alongside the network's games.

Can I use my Sky Bet account for Sky Poker?

Yes, and you don't register again: Sky's joining FAQ says an existing Sky Betting & Gaming account logs straight in to the apps.

Can I play Sky Poker on a Mac?

Only in a browser. Sky's poker FAQ says of its Windows download: "This is not available on Apple devices and customers should head to SkyPoker.com." On a Mac you play at skypoker.com, and on an iPad you can use the App Store app.

Does Sky Poker use pounds or euros?

Both. Network games are in euros, and Sky's FAQ adds: "Any Sky Poker exclusive games and promotions are played in pounds - also from funds in your poker wallet."

Is there a Sky Poker promo code?

No. Sky's welcome offer terms don't mention a code: new Sky customers opt in on the Missions tab instead, and the welcome bonus section above sets out what they get and the terms.

Can I play Sky Poker for free?

Through freerolls, which have no buy-in. You qualify with Status Points, though, and those come from rake paid at real-money games. The daily Sunday Major Freeroll needs 20 in the previous 24 hours, and the weekday Rewards Freeroll needs 50 in the previous week.

How do I withdraw my Sky Poker winnings?

Move them to your main wallet first. In a browser, open the Poker tab, select the arrow next to your balance and choose transfer; in Sky's sports betting app, the help says to tap the account icon, then Transfer Funds. Then withdraw from the main wallet as normal.

Can I use PayPal on Sky Poker?

No, Sky stopped taking it. If you still have money in your account from PayPal days, Sky's payments FAQ tells you to add a new method and deposit £5 with it, after which you can withdraw everything.
