Paddy Power login: how to log in, and what to do if you can’t

If Paddy Power won’t let you log in, try your email address instead of your username first. Usernames are case-sensitive and email addresses aren’t. If that doesn’t work, select “Forgot your username or password?” on the log-in screen. Locked out, or forgotten both? Paddy Power only sorts that out on live chat, not by email or text.

Problem What to do
Username not accepted Log in with your registered email address, or check the capitals in your username
Forgotten password Reset it from the log-in screen with your username and date of birth
Forgotten username Ask for it from the log-in screen, and Paddy Power emails it to you
Forgotten both, or account locked Live chat (the Login Chat button on Paddy Power’s forgotten details article)
Account suspended Live chat (the Suspended Chat button), where Paddy Power may ask for proof of ID and address
Fingerprint or PIN login fails Log in with your password, then turn fingerprint login off and on again in the app’s settings
Logged out on its own Paddy Power logs you out after 24 hours logged in without using your account
The app won’t work where you are Check location is turned on for the app

How to log in to Paddy Power

On the website, the log-in boxes are at the top of the screen:

  1. Enter your email address or username.
  2. Enter your password.
  3. Select Log in.

On Paddy Power’s separate log-in page the button reads “Come on in”, and there’s a “Remember me” option. In the app, tap Log in. Once you’ve set up a PIN, the app asks for that instead (see fingerprint, PIN and Face ID login).

Can’t log in to Paddy Power?

A common cause of Paddy Power login problems is the username. It’s case-sensitive, so “PaddyFan” and “paddyfan” count as different usernames. Your registered email address works in any mix of capitals, so use that if you’re not sure.

If the password is the problem, reset it (below) rather than guessing. Paddy Power doesn’t say how many wrong attempts will lock an account, so a couple of failed tries is the time to stop.

When Paddy Power asks you to confirm your email address or phone number, it sends a 6-digit code. If an email code doesn’t arrive, check your spam or junk folder. If a text doesn’t arrive, check your phone isn’t filtering messages as spam. You can also select resend code. If it still doesn’t come, use the Contact Verification Chat button on Paddy Power’s contact verification article.

In the app, location has to be on. Paddy Power’s terms count using a VPN to disguise your location as a prohibited activity. Trying to get in from a country where gambling is banned is also one of the reasons it gives for suspending an account.

Forgot your Paddy Power password?

To reset your Paddy Power password:

  1. On the log-in screen, select “Forgot your username or password?”.
  2. Enter your username and your date of birth.
  3. Choose email or text. If your account only has an email address, email is the only option.
  4. By email: open the link Paddy Power sends, answer your security questions, then set a new password.
  5. By text: enter the code Paddy Power sends, answer your security questions, then set a new password.

If the email doesn’t arrive, check your junk or spam folder, and check the email address registered on the account, which might be an old one.

Forgot your Paddy Power username?

You may not need it, because the email address on your account works instead. To get the username back, use the same “forgot” link on the log-in screen, and Paddy Power emails it to you. Check junk or spam, and any old email address you might have signed up with.

If you get a username reminder you didn’t ask for, Paddy Power suggests resetting your password.

Paddy Power account locked or suspended?

If you’ve locked your account, or forgotten both your username and your password, you’ll need Paddy Power’s live chat. Its help article on forgotten details has a Login Chat button, and the agent talks you through setting a new password. Paddy Power is clear that “No-one here has access to your password”, and that it won’t deal with forgotten details by email or text. Login Chat is also the place to go if you’ve forgotten just one of them and the reset steps above haven’t worked.

A suspended account is different. Paddy Power lists these reasons:

  • it hasn’t been able to verify you yet, and needs proof of ID or address
  • you’ve added a debit card that isn’t in your name
  • your details are already on another account
  • it has reason to think you might be under 18
  • you’ve tried to use the site from a country where gambling isn’t allowed

To get back in, use the Suspended Chat button on Paddy Power’s “My account is suspended” article, and be ready to send documents. Check your email first too, because Paddy Power may already have written to say why. While the account is suspended you can’t withdraw your balance. Bets you’ve already placed keep running, but if the matter isn’t sorted out, Paddy Power says it can void them or cancel the winnings.

Fingerprint, PIN and Face ID login

The Paddy Power app can log you in with a 4-digit PIN or your fingerprint instead of your password. Those are the two options the app gives me on my Google Pixel. Paddy Power’s help centre also mentions face recognition, which on an iPhone would be Face ID, but it isn’t offered on my Android phone.

If fingerprint, face or PIN login stops working, log in with your password, go to the app’s settings and turn biometrics off, then turn them back on. Paddy Power says you might see an error message, or you might just be asked for your password.

If you’ve forgotten your PIN, log in with your email address or username and your password, then set up a new PIN. To stop using a PIN, switch the “Use Native Login” toggle on the app’s settings screen back to the default.

Why has Paddy Power logged me out?

If you stay logged in for 24 hours without using your account, Paddy Power logs you out automatically. That way nobody can get in on a device you forgot to log out of.

Changing your password and keeping your login safe

To change your password on the website:

  1. Select My Account at the top right of the home page, then My account from the drop-down.
  2. Select My details.
  3. In the About you section, enter your current password, then your new password twice.
  4. Select Save changes.

Paddy Power’s help centre doesn’t give any password requirements, such as a minimum length. Its security team’s advice is to use a mix of numbers, letters and characters, never use the same password on another site, and change it every four to six months. If your phone is lost or stolen, contact Paddy Power to change your passwords.
