Our verdict

How it scores

For in-play betting and watching sport on your phone, the bet365 app is the one to beat: fast, deep on markets, and backed by one of the widest streaming libraries in the UK. Promotions are thinner than some rivals, and it will not take a bet with location services switched off.

App usability & design (25%) 10/10

Navigation stays consistent from sports into racing, virtuals and casino, and the bet slip is quick to reach. The "Accept Change" price safeguard is a nice touch.

Betting markets & odds (20%) 9/10

Around 40 sports with deep in-play coverage; strong on football, racing, cricket and tennis, with Best Odds Guaranteed on supported racing.

Payments & account (20%) 9/10

No fees, a wide method list and quick PayPal payouts — though card withdrawals still take banking days rather than minutes.

Live & in-play (20%) 9/10

Reliable in-play pricing on bet365's own platform and one of the widest UK streaming libraries. Note that Auto Cash Out has been dropped from the app.

Customer service & RG (15%) 9/10

24/7 live chat plus email and post, backed by biometric login and built-in safer-gambling tools. Location access is mandatory to bet.

We are in the process of re-testing some of the apps we review as we roll out our improved scoring methods — scores are updated as each app is re-verified.

Pros

  • Live streaming with a toggleable market overlay — it stays useful while you watch, and switches off with one tap when you just want the game.
  • Navigation and search are best-in-class — results include related teams and even surface outright bets, so you reach futures markets faster.
  • In-play betting is smooth and the price-change guard ("Accept Change") stops you accidentally placing at new odds.
  • Zero lag, blank screens or crashes across two full test sessions on a Pixel 10 Pro.
  • Accumulator bet types (4-fold, trebles, Lucky 15) are generated automatically — no manual selection needed.

Cons

  • Auto Cash Out has been removed from the app (several competitor review pages still list it as a feature).
  • Edit My Acca was not present on the accumulator bets we tested — it may have been removed or limited.
  • No sportsbook loyalty or VIP programme — only rotating, time-limited offers.
  • Withdrawing after using multiple deposit methods can trigger extra checks — best to stick to one method.
  • On iOS the app stalls on first open if Location Services is off, with no clear error message shown.

What we found when we tested it

Hands-on notes from our testing sessions.

Live streaming
In fullscreen, bet365 overlays the most popular markets across the bottom of the screen — you can scroll through the odds and place a bet without leaving the stream, and toggle the overlay off with a single tap. We found ourselves switching it off to just watch and back on to bet; it makes the streaming experience noticeably less cluttered than most apps.
In-play betting
Tapping a live game brings up the match stats and a live tracker first, with the markets and the Bet Builder tab below. One thing to know: if the odds move between selecting a bet and placing it, the Place Bet button changes to Accept Change and you have to acknowledge the new price first — a sensible guard against accidentally backing a price you did not intend to take.
Cash Out
Manual Cash Out is easy to find in the My Bets section. During Roma vs Lecce we tracked it climbing steadily past 90% of the full return with about five minutes to go. Worth flagging: Auto Cash Out has been removed from the app — several review sites still list it, but it was not available when we tested in March 2026.
Withdrawals
Our PayPal withdrawal was requested at 13:00 and arrived at 14:01 — just over an hour, at the faster end of what eWallet withdrawals usually look like. One catch we hit: depositing with more than one method in a single session can trigger an extra check before a withdrawal, though in-app live chat cleared ours within a couple of minutes.
Performance
Across two sessions on the Pixel 10 Pro — switching between live streams, in-play betting, checking an accumulator and browsing upcoming matches — we had no lag, no blank screens and no crashes. For an app handling live odds and a streaming feed at the same time, that is a strong result.

Significant terms: 18+. Pre-match single or accumulator selections only. Early settlement applies to the qualifying selection, not the whole accumulator. Full T&Cs on the bet365 promotions page.

Best Odds Guaranteed

On supported horse and greyhound racing, take an early price and if the starting price returns bigger, you are paid at the bigger odds.

Significant terms: 18+. Selected UK and Irish racing. Applies to single and multiple bets on win and each-way markets. Does not reduce the risk of a losing bet. Full T&Cs on the bet365 promotions page.

Acca Boost

Significant terms: 18+. Minimum number of legs and minimum odds per leg apply. Boost paid as cash on qualifying accumulators only. Full T&Cs on the bet365 promotions page.

Betting markets and odds

bet365 covers more sports markets than any other UK bookmaker I have used — both the mainstream stuff and a fair amount that is genuinely obscure. That breadth is one of the app’s real strengths, particularly if you move across sports depending on what is in season. Football runs to more than 35 leagues, from the Premier League and Champions League down through Serie A; horse racing spans UK, Irish and international meetings; and there is proper depth on cricket, tennis, golf, darts, snooker, boxing and MMA, alongside NFL, NBA, ice hockey, esports and even politics.

The in-play markets are where that depth really shows, and the pricing keeps pace with the action rather than freezing up when a game is live. On supported racing you also get Best Odds Guaranteed — take an early price, and if the starting price comes in bigger you are paid at the bigger number. It is a straightforward safety net for anyone betting ante-post.

How to place your first bet

For this review I placed a £35 in-play bet on Roma to beat Lecce. It was sitting at the top of the Featured Matches list with Roma already a goal up early in the game, and from opening the app to a confirmed bet took under two minutes. Here is exactly what each step looked like.

  1. Open the app and tap Sports in the navigation bar.
  2. Select Football and find your match. I tapped straight into the Featured Matches section at the top — Roma vs Lecce was the first card.
  3. Tap the match card to open the game view. The current stats appear first, with all the betting markets and the Bet Builder tab below.
  4. Choose your market. I went for Full Time Result, with Roma’s odds, the draw and Lecce’s odds each a single tap to select.
  5. Tapping Roma’s odds added the selection to the bet slip at the bottom of the screen, showing the selection details, the current odds and a stake field.
  6. Enter your stake. As I typed, the potential return updated in real time.
  7. The odds shifted slightly after I had made my selection. A banner appeared reading “the price of your selection has changed” and the Place Bet button became Accept Change. I confirmed the new price and tapped through.
  8. The bet was placed. The confirmation screen gave me a bet reference number, a Share button, the option to turn on live match alerts, and a Reuse Selections shortcut to rebuild the same picks quickly.

I tracked the match in My Bets throughout. The cash out offer climbed steadily as Roma extended their lead, reaching over 90% of the full return value with about five minutes to go. I did not cash out. Roma won, and the bet settled as a winner. That “Accept Change” step is worth highlighting for anyone new to in-play betting: odds move quickly during a live game, and having to confirm a price shift before the bet goes on stops you accidentally backing a selection at odds you never meant to take. It adds one tap, but it is a sensible safeguard.

Key app features

bet365 packs a lot into a single app — live streaming, in-play markets, Bet Builder, a full horse racing racecard, casino games and virtual sports all sit under one roof. Here is what each one is actually like to use.

Live streaming

Games with a live stream appear at the top of the match view, above the stats panel. In fullscreen, bet365 lays an overlay of the most popular markets across the bottom of the screen, so you can scroll through the odds and place a bet without leaving the stream. The overlay toggles on or off with a single tap — I found myself switching it off when I just wanted to watch, and back on when I was actively looking for a market. It is a small detail, but it makes the streaming experience noticeably less cluttered than most other apps.

Bet Builder

Tap the Bet Builder tab at the top of any match page and you get the full list of available markets to combine. Select each leg and it drops into the bet slip; once you have made all your selections, the slip shows the combined odds and your potential return from a single stake, with no arithmetic needed. The flow is clean and the market range is broad enough to build genuinely interesting combinations, not just the standard winner-and-scorer options.

In-play betting

Tapping a live game brings up the current match stats first, with all the betting markets and the Bet Builder option below. The stats view includes a live match tracker, which is useful for following the action if you do not have a stream available. One detail worth flagging for anyone new to in-play betting on bet365: if the odds move between the moment you select a bet and the moment you place it, the Place Bet button changes to Accept Change and a banner tells you the price has shifted. You can only confirm once you have acknowledged the new odds — a sensible guard against placing at a price you did not intend to take.

Bet slip

The bet slip pops up from the bottom of the screen as soon as you tap a set of odds. It shows the details of your selection, the stake field, and a live preview of your potential return, updated as you type. After the bet is placed, the confirmation screen gives you a bet reference number, a Share button to send your bet details to other apps, the option to turn on live match alerts, and a Reuse Selections shortcut to rebuild the same picks for another bet. It is a clean, well thought-out process.

Accumulators

Building an acca is straightforward. Browse to upcoming matches in any sport, tap the odds across your selections, and the bet slip automatically generates all the available multiple types — doubles, trebles, four-folds, and combinations like a Lucky 15 — without you needing to specify anything. I put together a four-fold across upcoming football fixtures with a £5 stake, at odds of 2.91/1 for a potential £19.56 return. The whole process took under two minutes.

Biometric login

PIN, fingerprint and Face ID are all available as login options, found under Account then Settings. The app prompts you to set up biometric login after your first password sign-in, or you can set it up later in the Preferences section. Biometric login is genuinely useful on a betting app — when you want to check a live score or react quickly to a price, getting back in with a fingerprint rather than typing a password makes a real difference.

Horse racing racecard

The horse racing racecard is one of the better-presented in any UK betting app. The header gives you the race number, time, time to post, distance, class grade and track surface at a glance. If a live stream is available it appears at the top of the view; if not, you get an animation showing live field positions instead. Each runner has its number, name, jockey, trainer, weight and age, a written form section with recent performance notes, and a Spotlight summary of the key details for that race, with the horse’s last five results in full below. SP, Bet Builder, and Each Way Extra with Place Boost are all available on supported races.

Virtual sports

Virtual Sports sits in the main menu bar at the top of the homepage, alongside the other sport categories. Tapping into it feels the same as opening any other section — consistent layout, no jarring switch in design. The landing screen shows all the available virtual sports, and tapping one takes you to a live stream of whatever event is currently running, with upcoming events and betting markets listed below. It is well integrated, and the same ease of use carries through from the sports side of the app.

Casino

The Casino section is accessible directly from the main menu bar. Opening it switches you into a casino-oriented layout — a dedicated navigation bar at the top, with game rails underneath for categories like Games of the Month and Live Casino. Slots loaded quickly and the experience felt consistent with the rest of the app. If you are using bet365 primarily for sports betting, the casino is a natural extension rather than a separate destination. We have a separate bet365 Casino review covering the slots and table games in more detail.

Notifications and alerts

Bet alerts are managed from Account then Alerts. Winning-bet notifications, free-bet alerts and payment notifications are all turned on by default, with individual toggles to turn them off. Event alerts — specific matches or races you are tracking — are listed separately, with a clear view of what is active and the option to clear them all at once. Settlement notifications fire when bets are resolved, which is useful when you have in-play bets running during a busy card of fixtures.

What it is like to use day to day

I have used the bet365 app more than any other UK bookmaker over the years, and the reason comes down to one thing: it rarely makes you think. The structure is logical enough that finding what you want is almost instinctive, even across a busy fixture list.

Navigation

The homepage opens with a search bar at the top and a horizontal icon strip below it for the sport and gambling categories — one tap gets you to any section. In the football section, matches are filtered by Top Leagues, UK, UEFA Competitions, or a View All list of upcoming fixtures. It is the kind of layout that rewards regular use: you quickly learn where things are and stop thinking about navigation at all, which is exactly what you want from a betting app.

Search

Search is stronger than you would expect. Searching Manchester United returned a Teams section with United at the top and FC United of Manchester directly below it — the most likely result first, with related results accessible but not leading. Below the team results, the search also surfaced outright bets: Premier League winner odds, top-half finish, and similar futures. It is a useful safety net for anyone who is not sure exactly where to navigate to, and a faster route to futures markets than clicking through to the competition pages.

Deposits

Depositing is simple. Tap Deposit from anywhere in the app, select your payment method from the seven options available, and you are done. Every method I tested — Google Pay, PayPal and Pay by Bank — showed the balance instantly. Pay by Bank adds one approval step in your banking app, which is an expected part of the Open Banking process and takes a few seconds.

Withdrawals

To withdraw, go to Account and tap Withdraw. Enter your amount and the app processes it to the last payment method you used that accepts withdrawals. My test withdrawal to PayPal was requested at 13:00 and arrived at 14:01 — just over an hour, which is at the faster end of what eWallet withdrawals typically look like. One thing to be aware of: if you have deposited using more than one payment method in the same session, as I did during testing, bet365 may pause the withdrawal and flag it for additional checks. This is not a widespread issue for most people who stick to one method, but it is worth knowing. If it happens, the in-app live chat resolves it quickly — mine was confirmed and back on track within a couple of minutes.

Performance

Across two sessions on the Pixel 10 Pro — switching between live streams, in-play betting, checking an accumulator and browsing upcoming matches — there was no lag, no blank screens and no crashes. For an app handling live odds updates and a streaming feed at the same time, that is a solid result.

How does bet365 compare to other betting apps?

I have used a few of the main UK apps over the years — Paddy Power, 888sport and Betfred are the ones I come back to alongside bet365 — and the honest answer is that bet365 still feels like the most low-friction option for day-to-day use.

Against Paddy Power, bet365 wins on the match and event pages. The event card layout is easier to scan and navigate, so you get to the markets you actually want more quickly. Paddy Power does offer deeper in-event stats through Opta data, which is genuinely useful when you are deciding on a bet — but for overall flow, bet365 is cleaner.

Against 888sport, the support comparison is clear. Both have live chat, but 888 routes you through an AI assistant first, which adds steps when you just want a straight answer from a human. bet365’s live chat connected me directly to an agent in under a minute.

Betfred is the closest comparison on overall usability. It is a well-built app, but bet365 edges it on polish — the market depth, the racecard detail and the streaming integration all feel a step above. The main area where bet365 loses ground to all three is loyalty: there is no sportsbook rewards scheme, while some competitors do offer ongoing points or bonuses for regular use.

Fixes

bet365 Sportsbook app not working? Common faults and fixes

On iPhone, the app stalls on a blank screen when you open it

Fix: This is the known iOS location quirk: if Location Services is off before you open the app, it hangs without explaining why. Go to Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Location Services, switch it on, and relaunch the app.

The app will not load, or shows a blank / error screen

Fix: bet365 needs your location and cookies, and it blocks VPNs — a VPN can even get your account restricted. Turn any VPN off, leave private or incognito mode, clear your browser or app cache, and try again.

"Your device isn't compatible" or the app will not install on Android

Fix: Your device may be below the supported Android version. Install straight from Google Play rather than an APK mirror; if it still will not install, the device may be unsupported — use the mobile site in the meantime.

You cannot log in after a break or self-exclusion

Fix: If you self-excluded, the account stays closed for the period you chose and cannot be reopened early. Otherwise, reset your password in the app, and contact 24/7 live chat if the account is still locked.

We tested the bet365 app hands-on across two sessions totalling around two hours, on a Google Pixel 10 Pro running Android 16 — app version 8.0.42.00-row, installed from Google Play. The install guides were verified on a Pixel 6 Pro and an iPhone 6s as well. During testing we made real deposits across three payment methods — Google Pay, PayPal and Pay by Bank — and ran a PayPal withdrawal from start to finish, requested at 13:00 and landed at 14:01, just over an hour. We placed real bets too: a £35 in-play single on Roma to beat Lecce, which we tracked through cash out as it climbed past 90% of the full return before it settled as a winner, and a £5 four-fold across football fixtures at 2.91/1 for a £19.56 return. Last tested 22–23 March 2026.

Our bet365 Sportsbook verdict

If you bet in-play or like to watch the sport you are betting on, bet365 is the most complete app in the UK market. The streaming library is the widest we track, the market depth is hard to match, and the pricing stays reliable when a game is live. Add no payment fees and quick PayPal payouts, and it is an easy app to recommend for everyday betting.

It is not flawless. Promotions are thinner than some rivals push, Auto Cash Out has been removed, card withdrawals run to banking days, and the app simply will not take a bet with location services switched off. If a big welcome offer or same-day card payouts are your priority, look elsewhere. For in-play depth and streaming, nothing we have reviewed does it better.

bet365 Sportsbook app FAQ

Is bet365 a good app?

Yes — it is the strongest UK app we track for in-play betting and live streaming, which is why our provisional score is 9.3/10. The trade-offs are thinner promotions than some rivals and card withdrawals that take banking days.

Is the bet365 app free to download?

Yes. The app is free on both the App Store and Google Play. You must be 18 or over to register, and identity verification is required before you can bet.

Do bet365 pay out instantly?

Not quite. PayPal withdrawals are usually processed within 24 hours, but debit-card withdrawals run to banking days. Deposits, by contrast, are instant on cards and e-wallets.

Why is the bet365 app not working?

The usual causes are location services turned off, an active VPN, or private / incognito mode — bet365 needs your location and blocks VPNs. Turn location on, switch any VPN off, clear the cache, and relaunch. See the troubleshooting section above for the specific fixes.

Does the bet365 app have live streaming?

Yes — one of the widest streaming libraries on any UK app, covering football, tennis, racing, darts and more. Streaming requires a funded account or a bet placed in the last 24 hours.

Can I log in with Face ID or a fingerprint?

Yes. The app supports PIN, fingerprint and Face ID login, set up under Account then Settings. There is also a separate bet365 Authenticator app for extra account security.

Can I download the bet365 app on Android?

Yes. It is published on Google Play by Hillside Technology Limited. Follow the Android steps in the download section and only ever install from the official store — not an APK mirror.
