Sky Bet Sportsbook Best for football accas and BuildABet

Sky Bet app download & review (October 2026)

I'd pick the Sky Bet app if your usual bet is a BuildABet on a football match. Each one takes up to 10 selections from the same game, and Sky makes every BuildABet eligible for cash out. Racing asks more of you.

How to download the Sky Bet app on Android and iPhone

The two stores list the free Sky Bet app download under slightly different names: the App Store has Sky Bet - Sports Betting, and Google Play has Sky Bet: Sports Betting App. On iPhone you need iOS 16 or later (it runs on iPad as well); the Sky Bet app for Android needs version 9 or later. You'll need location services switched on before you can bet.

Download the Sky Bet app for Android

  1. Open Google Play: licensed UK betting apps are listed directly on the Play Store.
  2. Search for "Sky Bet" and check the developer name matches the official operator.
  3. Tap "Install". The app is free.
  4. Open the app and log in, or register a new account. You must be 18 or over, and identity verification is required before you can bet.
  5. Set your deposit limits in the app before you place a first bet.

Open the Google Play listing

Sky Bet app not showing on Google Play?

You don't need an APK: the Sky Bet app is on Google Play, and Sky's help article on the app links straight to that listing. Check the developer reads Sky Betting and Gaming Apps before you install, and leave updates to Google Play, which Sky says downloads them automatically.

Download the Sky Bet app for iPhone and iPad

  1. Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad (you need a UK Apple ID).
  2. Search for "Sky Bet" and check the developer name matches the official operator before you install anything.
  3. Tap "Get" to download. The app is free.
  4. Open the app and log in, or register a new account. You must be 18 or over, and identity verification is required before you can bet.
  5. Set your deposit limits in the app before you place a first bet.

How it scores

I'd pick the Sky Bet app if your usual bet is a BuildABet on a football match. Each one takes up to 10 selections from the same game, and Sky makes every BuildABet eligible for cash out. Racing asks more of you. Best Odds Guaranteed on UK and Irish races pays the bigger starting price automatically, but only to customers who qualified for Sky Bet Club the week before. Sky is also partway through updating the app, and its reply to a Google Play review in September said "We're working to improve app speed and stability."

App usability & design (25%) 8.5/10

Face ID, Touch ID and one login for all five Sky apps help. Sky's September 2026 reply to a Play reviewer says it is still working on app speed and stability.

Betting markets & odds (20%) 8.5/10

Football goes past match odds with BuildABets of up to 10 selections, RequestABets, Super Sub and 2UP, and racing adds Extra Places and BOG for last week's Sky Bet Club qualifiers.

Payments & account (20%) 9/10

Pay by Bank works both ways with no minimum deposit and no fees, Revolut Pay, cards and Apple Pay cover the rest, and Sky no longer takes PayPal.

Live & in-play (20%) 9/10

Streams through Watch Live need only a login, cash out runs in play and between legs, and football matches have live notifications on both apps.

Customer service & safer gambling (15%) 9/10

Live chat runs 7am to 2am, topic chats and @SkyBetHelp messages are the other routes, complaints can go to IBAS for free, and the safer gambling tools include Deposit Controls and Cool-Off.

We are still working through hands-on testing of every app we review. Until we have tested one, its score comes from published app data and our own research, and we update it as soon as the testing is done. How we review →

Pros

  • BuildABets take up to 10 selections, and every one is eligible for cash out
  • Super Sub moves qualifying player bets to the substitute in BuildABets and multiples as well as singles, in play too

  • Notifications on football matches open to in-play, on both apps, with no bet needed
  • Pay by Bank deposits have no minimum and no fees

Cons

  • PayPal and Google Pay are no longer accepted
  • BOG on UK and Irish racing only applies if you qualified for Sky Bet Club the week before
  • No customer service phone line, and live chat closes from 2am to 7am
  • Two Google Play reviewers, in June and September 2026, report lag since app updates

Sky Bet login and your account

Sky Bet app login uses your username (or email) and a PIN. That one login also opens Sky Vegas, Sky Casino, Sky Poker and Sky Bingo, because Sky gives each customer a single account across all five. On iPhone the App Store listing adds Face ID and Touch ID.

Forgotten your PIN? Sky’s recovery journey asks for your username and date of birth, and if that doesn’t get you back in, the help article has a Login Chat button that puts you through to customer services. You’re logged out after 90 minutes without activity.

When you join Sky Bet, you confirm your email address and mobile number with a code, and you can’t deposit or bet until that’s done. If the electronic identity check doesn’t go through, Sky asks for photo ID as a JPEG, JPG or PNG and aims to review it within 4 hours, though it can take up to 24.

Sky Bet 2UP, Super Sub and the other football extras

I’m a fan of BuildABet on Sky Bet, mainly because one void leg doesn’t sink it: if a selection is voided, the rest keep running. Each BuildABet takes up to 10 selections from a single match, and one betslip holds up to 20 selections in all. You can also put a BuildABet in as one leg of a bigger multiple, and you’ll find it on the BuildABet tab of eligible football matches.

Sky Bet 2UP is a market of its own on selected pre-match football, marked with a yellow Early Payout tag. If your team goes two or more goals ahead at any point in regular time, Sky pays the bet out as a winner. Its football rules add: “There is no maximum pay out on this market.” The early payout doesn’t apply to the draw, and an ordinary Full Time Result bet doesn’t qualify, so it’s for backing one side to win, before kick-off, on the 2UP market itself.

Sky Bet’s Super Sub rules reach further than player singles. A qualifying player bet carries over to the substitute inside a BuildABet or a multiple too, in play as well as before kick-off, and on bets placed with a free bet. There’s no opt-in, and it only runs on the competitions Sky selects.

RequestABets are Sky’s ready-priced combinations, listed further down a match’s page. For a bet that isn’t listed, Sky’s help sends you to @SkyBetHelp on X, but the old @RequestABet account was still replying to requests in August 2026. Our Sky Bet RequestABet guide has the full rules, RequestABet Insurance included.

How to do an acca on Sky Bet

Tap each selection you want and it drops into the betslip at the bottom of the screen. Scroll down to Multiples (or Additional Multiples), type your stake in the box next to the accumulator (or next to the Lucky 15, if you’ve picked four) and tap Place Bet(s). Sky’s Enhanced Accumulators, such as the Soccer Saturday Price Boost, are listed under Special Bets in the football section.

Acca Freeze needs a pre-match Full Time Result acca of five or more legs on selected competitions, with a maximum stake of £20. Once the matches are in play, you can freeze a leg that’s winning, up to three times a week and one leg per bet. Freezes don’t work on 2UP markets, so on any one acca you’re choosing between 2UP and a freeze. Our Sky Bet Acca Freeze guide goes through the rules and exclusions.

Which Sky Bet bets you can cash out

Sky says cash out should always be there on its football match odds markets, while football handicap markets don’t have it at all. In the app, open My Bets on the bottom menu and cash out from your open bets, before the start, in play or between legs. It works on singles, multiples and accas, and you can cash out part of a bet.

If Sky Bet cash out is suspended because something is happening in the match, the button shows as updating. A bet placed with a free bet can’t be cashed out until its value is more than the free bet. And there’s no undo: press it by mistake and Sky can’t reinstate the bet.

Sky Bet in-play and Watch Live

Streams on the Sky Bet app are free on several in-play events, and Sky’s help sets one condition: “You only need to be logged in to access the streams.” Log in, open the menu at the top left, pick the sport, open the event and tap Watch Live; on racing, a race with video has the Watch Live button on its page. Sky puts the delay at 2 to 5 seconds behind live, and longer in some cases.

For football, live match notifications work on the iPhone and Android apps for any match open to in-play betting. You don’t need a bet on it: there’s a toggle at the top of the match page, and on your bet receipt. They don’t cover boosted accas or specials, the Soccer Saturday Price Boost among them. Android users miss out on picture-in-picture, as of October 2026: Sky’s help says the floating stream works on the iPhone app and mobile web but isn’t on the Android app yet.

Sky Bet horse racing and Sky Bet Club

Best Odds Guaranteed (BOG) on Sky Bet needs no opt-in of its own: if the starting price beats the odds you took, Sky pays the bigger price automatically. It covers win and each-way bets on UK and Irish races, placed from 9am that day. Sky’s list of bets that don’t qualify, though, includes “Any bets placed by a customer who hasn’t qualified for Sky Bet Club in the previous week to the day of the race.” To qualify for the Club, you opt in to it and bet £30 in cash stakes between Monday and 23:59 on Sunday at evens or bigger. Free bets, tote pool bets and cashed-out bets don’t count.

For me, that suits someone who bets on racing most weeks; the occasional Saturday punter who skipped last week won’t get BOG on the race they care about. The exclusions also leave out international racing, ante post bets, Extra Place races and Price Boosts.

The Sky Bet sign-up offer

You need to be 18 or over and new to every Sky brand: any Sky Bet, Vegas, Casino, Bingo or Poker account, past or present, rules you out. Deposit at least £5 by debit card or Apple Pay (Neteller and Skrill users don’t qualify). Then make your first bet a single or each-way bet of 5p or more at odds of 1/1 or greater. Our Sky Bet new customer offer guide has the full terms.

Paying in and withdrawing on Sky Bet

The Sky Bet app takes debit cards, Apple Pay, Pay by Bank and Revolut Pay; PayPal and Google Pay have gone from every Sky brand. The Sky Bet minimum deposit depends on the method: Sky’s deposit help says Pay by Bank has no minimum, and its Revolut Pay article puts that one at £5. Pay by Bank has no fees either.

A payment method you’ve just added needs a £5 deposit through it before Sky lets you withdraw any funds. Sky Bet’s net deposits rule also says you must withdraw to each method at least the total you deposited with it before using another. You can register up to three debit cards, each in your own name. Credit cards are out by law. The table below has Sky’s withdrawal time for each method where it gives one, and our Sky Bet withdrawal time guide sets out what Sky says to do when a withdrawal is late.

Sky Bet profit and loss and the safer gambling tools

I like that Sky shows you what you’ve won or lost over a set period, so nobody has to add up their own bet history. My Profit and Loss is in My Account, under Betting Activity. It shows your returns minus your stakes on bets settled over the last 7 days, 30 days, 3 months or 12 months. Free bet stakes aren’t counted (cash you won with them is), deposits and withdrawals are left out, and the figures refresh daily, so today’s bets show up tomorrow.

If it’s the betting you want to stop, you can self-exclude from Sky Bet alone, for anything from 6 months to 5 years. Making it permanent means excluding from every Sky product, and then Sky also takes steps to block matching UK accounts at Paddy Power, Betfair, PokerStars and tombola. Deposit Controls are the lighter touch: two kinds of limit, on what you deposit or on your net deposits, set for a day, a week or a month. Sky points to GAMSTOP for blocking participating online gambling sites licensed in Great Britain.

Gambling on Sky Bet is for adults aged 18 and over. If it stops being fun, free and confidential help is on the National Gambling Helpline, 0808 8020 133, and at BeGambleAware.org. Please gamble responsibly.

Who runs Sky Bet?

Sky Bet’s sportsbook is run by SBG Sports Limited, which holds Gambling Commission licence 67370 for general betting, pool betting and gambling software, all active since 6 October 2025. If you’ve seen Bonne Terre Limited and licence 38718 linked to Sky Bet, every licence on that account was surrendered on 31 October 2025. The account to check on the register now is 67370. The companies behind the Sky brands are wholly owned by Flutter Entertainment plc, and the Sky name is used under licence from Sky Limited.

Getting help from Sky Bet

Sky Bet doesn’t publish a general customer service phone number, and I’d like one for account problems. Live chat runs 7am to 2am every day, and @SkyBetHelp answers private messages on X and Facebook from 7am to midnight. Our Sky Bet contact guide covers every route, what the 0808 number is for and how complaints reach IBAS.

The other Sky apps on your account

If you’re after casino games, poker or bingo, the Sky Bet app is the wrong download: each has its own app, and your Sky Bet login works in all of them. For the casino, see our Sky Casino app review. Sky Poker now plays on the iPoker network, with Sky’s own games in pounds and the network’s games in euros, which our Sky Poker app review explains. Google Play lists Sky Bingo as Sky Bingo – Real Money Bingo. Like the casino and poker apps, it’s run by Bonne Terre Gaming Limited under licence 65519, and our Sky Bingo app review covers it.

Sky Bet app not working? Common faults and fixes

If the Sky Bet app seems to be down, Sky's help suggests a test first: open another site, Sky Sports for example, in your phone's browser. If that won't load either, the problem is your connection, so find a stronger signal and try again. If it loads and the app still won't connect, you can message @SkyBetHelp on X.

Sky Bet not working when the app opens

Fix: Sky's help says to check you have a strong WiFi or 3G/4G signal, then try again.

Can you use Sky Bet in Spain?

Fix: No. Spain isn't one of Sky's permitted areas, which include the UK, Ireland and Gibraltar, and the app needs location services on to check where you are.

Face ID or fingerprint login not working

Fix: Log in with your PIN, go to the settings page in the app, and turn Face ID or fingerprint login off and back on.

Sky Bet app slow after an update

Fix: Sky asks you to contact support with your device and app version so it can investigate, in its September 2026 reply to a Google Play review that describes lag when selecting a bet. A June review there describes lag in the stake box since the updates.

Live match notifications stopped

Fix: Sky's help suggests deleting and reinstalling the app, which can clear temporary files stored on your phone. Notifications only cover football matches open to in-play betting.

A Watch Live stream won't play

Fix: Check you're logged in, then follow Sky's help: check your connection, refresh the screen or restart the app.

A payment error on the Sky Bet mobile site

Fix: Sky's website help says a withdrawal that shows an error will still be processed by its team. A deposit that shows an error hasn't gone through, and Sky advises trying again.

Our Sky Bet verdict

I’d recommend the Sky Bet app most to football bettors who build their own bets, and Super Sub is a big part of why, because it follows you into those builds. On the competitions Sky picks, a qualifying player bet moves to the player coming on, whether it’s a single or part of a BuildABet or multiple. Then there’s 2UP, a separate market on selected matches that pays out early when the side you’ve backed goes two goals up, and Sky sets no maximum payout on it. On racing, BOG is only paid to last week’s Sky Bet Club qualifiers. And if PayPal is how you pay, you’ll need another method, since no Sky brand takes it now.

Sky Bet app FAQ

Can I use PayPal on Sky Bet?

No. Sky no longer accepts PayPal, or Google Pay, on any of its brands. If you used either, Sky says you'll need to add another payment method and deposit with it before you can carry on betting or withdraw.

What is the Sky Bet max payout?

It depends on the event. Sky's maximum winnings per customer per day are £500,000 on the Premier League and other listed top football competitions, and £250,000 on other football fixtures. Football specials, such as transfer and manager specials, are capped at £50,000. Horse racing is capped at £250,000 on UK and rest-of-world races with an industry SP, and at £100,000 when all your selections are in Australia or New Zealand.

Is Sky Bet legit?

Yes. Sky Bet is run by SBG Sports Limited under Gambling Commission licence 67370.

How do I change my name on Sky Bet?

Contact Sky's customer service team. A name change after marriage, a civil partnership or a divorce needs documents, and the same team handles a move to another country.

Can I cancel a bet on Sky Bet?

You can cash out where cash out is available. Otherwise Sky only cancels a bet with its agreement, which you ask for through the Cancel Bet Chat on its help article. It never cancels once the price has changed, the event has started or you've changed your mind.

How do I close my Sky Bet account?

Go to My Account, then Safer Gambling, and scroll to Close My Account. Sky reopens a regular closure if you contact customer service; for a set break, use a Cool-Off or self-exclusion instead.
